NGLS 2019 Year in Review
It is hard to believe that 2019 is coming to an end. The year brought more steam engines operating on a regular basis around the railroad, new members, friends, installation of a bridge, construction of a Gauge 1 railroad, and a whole lot more.

The quest to document the history of NGLS 1328
The live steam hobby is full of history. Recently, Bill Leahy, NGLS President, has taken up the challenge to try and not only document the history of the club steamer but also try and clear up some confusion in the story.
The live steam hobby is full of history. Recently, Bill Leahy, NGLS President, has taken up the challenge to try and not only document the history of the club steamer but also try and clear up some confusion in the story. While we may know the complete history of the club steamer one thing is for sure it has been a passion of love for so many over the years and seeing it operate full time on the railroad this year is a testament to keeping the memories alive with this great example of a steam locomotive. Here are a few pictures from about 15 years ago when it went through another rebuild.
Georgia Boiler Inspection Exception as of November 7, 2019
During our annual Georgia Boiler Inspection on October 26, 2019 several board members and club members talked with Steve Laughlin our new inspector about whether or not we could have an Invitational Meet without requiring a Georgia State Inspection.
During our annual Georgia Boiler Inspection on October 26, 2019 several board members and club members talked with Steve Laughlin our new inspector about whether or not we could have an Invitational Meet without requiring a Georgia State Inspection. On Thursday, November 7, 2019 Steve got back with Peter Craymer and Robby Mossman stating they did not see an issue with us having a private meet that was not open to the general public with steam engines that do not have a Georgia State Boiler Inspection. His suggestion however was to make sure the visiting steam engines had current hydrostatic tests.

Take a look back with us to 2009 as NGLS operated with a portable track as a fundraiser to build our new railroad
Here are some photos from 2009 when NGLS was in the early stages of building a new railroad. In those days we operated with a portable track to continue to build awareness of the club and the hobby.

Boiler Inspection Day - April 6, 2009
Boiler inspection day is always a great time for club members to come out get together and have a little fun after an inspection. Here are some great photos of the club steamer running at a member’s private track after getting the all clear.
