Unofficial workday with progress on the “Grandma Line” and container mural
While we didn’t have an official workday on the schedule today, it was John’s official weekend to come out to the railroad. He spent time on the container mural, along with installing a retaining wall for the “Grandma Line”. A big thanks to John and his commitment to getting this project a step closer to being completed. Our next official workday is coming up on Saturday, May 10th, as we prepare the railroad for our May 17th public run day. Please come prepared to perform track maintenance, cut grass, and have a good time. Workday begins at 8:30 a.m.

Project 21: Container Mural and Fundraiser
As the railroad continues to see expansion and containers being placed on the property, we are working on improving the scenery around the railroad with a container mural being painted on one of our 40’ storage containers. If you are interested in helping complete this project, please considering a donation. The project leader suggests a $75 donation, but any size donation will help complete this project. Donations can be mailed to North Georgia Live Steamers, P.O. Box 1809, Conyers, GA 30012 or you can make a donation online.
As the railroad continues to see expansion and containers being placed on the property, we are working on improving the scenery around the railroad with container murals being painted on the side of our storage containers. If you are interested in helping complete this project, you can do so in a couple of different ways. The first is by donating your time to help with anything from preparation, buying supplies, or even a donation. The money raised will go towards the current container mural and future container murals already in the planning stage. Donations can be mailed to North Georgia Live Steamers, P.O. Container Mural #2 Proposal
The second container mural being proposed is based on this NYC photo. The idea is to make a couple of small adjustments including replacing New York Central on the tender and replace it with North Georgia Live Steamers as the road name. More planning is still needed but this is what is currently being discussed.
