Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 2nd at 8:30 a.m.—it’s time to roll up our sleeves and give the railroad some well-deserved TLC!

We’ve got a productive (and satisfying!) day planned, focusing on track maintenance—especially in the yard area and switches. After our spring meet, we found a few spots that need attention, including some switches that need to be regauged and secured with longer screws—particularly on the far end of the #4 yard track. We’ll also be making our way around the railroad to tighten up older sections where rails have loosened over time.

It’s a great chance to make a real impact, learn a few things, and enjoy some time together trackside.

North Georgia Live Steamers invite you and all those who love trains to come out and ride trains with us on Saturday, May 9th from 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. We will be opening for our second public train ride day of the 2026 season and look forward to seeing you and all the different types of trains that will be operating on the Conyers & Hightower Trail Railroad.

Cost is $2 per person per ride on the railroad. Must be at least 18 months old or older. Sorry expectant mothers are not allowed to ride on the railroad. We do NOT accept debit/credit cards.
